Crossing Cultures, An Anglo-Australian Working in Aboriginal Communities
Papunya 1982 Coonamble 1989 Yarralin 1995
Crossing Cultures is an account of Barbara Jacksons's experiences working and living in three Aboriginal communities and the historical context of those places and times. Few Australians have spent time in Aboriginal communities or have Aboriginal people in their circles of family and friendship. This lack of contact, combined with the poor understanding Australians have of their history, compelled her to write this book.
Barbara Jackson acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land upon which we live and work, and pays her respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
